2000 visitors at KLG Europe during opening weekend.

07 November 2023

Last weekend, KLG Europe celebrated the opening of its new facility in Eersel and opened its doors to customers, business associates, staff, local residents, students and job seekers. The highly successful 2-day event attracted nearly 2000 visitors.

The opening weekend of the modern and new building at the De Meer industrial estate started Friday 3 November in the afternoon for KLG's customers. Saturday morning, 4 November, was the open day and visitors could take a look behind the scenes of the logistics process. The weekend ended on Saturday evening with a big staff party.

More than 1000 interested people visited the open day on Saturday. They were introduced to the logistics activities, the KLG team, the vehicle fleet and could take a look at the 10.000 m2 cross-dock, the garage and the car wash. Through various activities and demonstrations, visitors found out more about the services and solutions KLG Europe offers in logistics. Not only what it takes to maintain the modern fleet but also what kind of goods are transported in KLG trucks. The latter became clear from the suppliers and customers present during the day. KLG colleagues proudly showed visitors that the logistics sector is more than trucks and warehouses.

KLG developed 'KLG kids' for the youngest generation a few years ago. Tom the truck, Victor the plane, Sam the ship and Tren the train enthuse children about the logistics sector. During the open day, the youngest visitors could take part in an interactive exploration in the form of a quiz. Our drivers also gave tips and tricks on safely participating in traffic and the danger of blind spots.

Full of pride, Johan Cuijten, general manager KLG Eersel looks back on the opening weekend. "It was a fantastic weekend. I am very proud of our own colleagues who took on the organisation and execution of these 2 days entirely by themselves. During the morning programme on Saturday alone, there were 1000 visitors. These were people who live around here, family and friends of colleagues, local residents, students and also jobseekers."

Erik Loijen, CEO KLG Europe: "The goal of this day to increase KLG's brand awareness and improve the image of the logistics industry was definitely achieved. As KLG, we are involved in several initiatives for this purpose. Still, you can only really make it clear by letting people really look inside that logistics today is dominated by speed, technical gadgets, innovation and sustainability. The reactions we received afterwards were very enthusiastic. I would therefore like to thank everyone for this very successful opening weekend."
