What the second Lean & Green star means for KLG Europe
Achieving the second Lean & Green star confirms that we have taken serious and effective steps to make our logistics processes more sustainable. This includes investments in energy-efficient vehicles, alternative fuels, and innovative technologies that help reduce CO₂ emissions. It is an important recognition of the results we have achieved and the positive impact we have on the environment.
Lower CO₂ emissions
We aim to further reduce CO₂ emissions through efficiency and sustainable transport. We invest in modern trucks and train our drivers in eco-friendly driving techniques, enabling them to drive safely and fuel-efficiently. Sustainability and safety also play an important role in the selection of transport partners.
10% CO₂ reduction between 2020 and 2023
Between 2020 and 2023, we jointly achieved a 10% reduction in CO₂ emissions thanks to conscious choices and targeted improvements:
• More efficient route planning to reduce empty runs and optimize fuel consumption.
• Consolidation of shipments to reduce the number of trips and improve load utilization.
• Use of alternative modalities, such as intermodal transport, where possible, to reduce the ecological footprint.
These results confirm our commitment to sustainability and our ongoing ambition to further reduce our CO₂ emissions.

Lean & Green is an initiative that supports companies in the logistics sector in making their operations more sustainable. The program focuses on improving CO₂ efficiency and reducing CO₂ emissions through concrete measures and collaboration within the logistics chain.
