Strike announced at the Port of Rotterdam on 4 September 2026
06 augustus 2026The FNV Havens trade union has announced that port workers at the Port of Rotterdam will go on strike on Friday, 4 September 2026. The strike is part of a broader nationwide campaign against proposed cuts to social security, including unemployment and disability benefits.
At present, the level of participation and the exact impact on the logistics chain remain unclear. Depending on the scale and duration of the strike, the action may lead to delays in cargo handling, longer waiting times and disruptions to scheduled transport via the Port of Rotterdam.
KLG Europe is closely monitoring developments and will take appropriate measures wherever possible to limit the impact on our services and customers. Customers whose shipments may be affected will receive further details separately from the relevant operational department.
