Donation project: sustainable chairs and sustainable transport to Romania
16 April 2024Yesterday, we put 130 church chairs on transport to Romania. This in cooperation with PKN church in Best. The church chairs are now no longer suitable because the church is now used for multiple purposes and so chairs need to be used flexibly. The old (solid but heavy) chairs will now go to two destinations in north-eastern Romania. One part will go to a church in Campulung Moldovenesc (near the Moldovan border). The other part of the chairs will go to a day care centre for young people with autism in Iasi (ANCAAR). The foundation set up this day care centre because there was no day care yet for young people with autism who do not go to school (anymore).
Sustainable chairs; because the chairs will get a second destination in Romania after 30 years in the Netherlands.
Sustainable transport*; because the chairs are combined with other loads as groupage transport.
The Foundation
The Ancora Foundation has been active in Romania for over 20 years and is a Christian non-profit organisation, working in Romania and Moldova. The Foundation offers help to people in difficulty, regardless of race, religion and nationality. From both foundations (PKN church in Best and Ancora), the church chairs project was set up and KLG Europe was asked for a donation in the form of transport.
Donation transport
KLG Europe brings the chairs to Romania free of charge. This is done sustainably as the chairs are combined with other shipments. From the Venlo branch, the church chairs are taken to the branch in Romania. Once all the chairs have arrived in Bucharest, this cargo is combined into one and the chairs are taken to their final destination.
